Elton Dwain Brown, 88 of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 in Clarksville. He was born June 1, 1928 in Arbaugh, AR to Mr. King David and Pearl (Whelchel) Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from the Arkansas State Police after 22 years of service and was the Johnson County Sherriff for 6 years, and served our country in the U S Army. He was a cattle farmer and he loved his cattle, his tractor and his pickup truck.
Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister in law, Vivan and Ruth Brown, brother Hoytte Brown, sister and brother in law, Shirley and Dick Tankersley, nephew Wayne Brown, and sister in law Janet Brown. He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Medrud) Brown, daughter Alison Taylor, brother Dallas W Brown, sister and brother in law Shelby and Eugene Melson, sister in law Dorothy Lynch and 8 nieces and nephews.
There will be an open visitation with funeral services at 1:00 pm Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Avaritt and Garrett Siemens officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Dorothy “Dottie” Medrud Brown, 69 of Clarksville, AR., passed away Sunday July, 29, 2018 in Russellville, AR.

Dorothy was born February 12, 1949 in Springfield, IL to Dale Howard and Kathryn (Corliss) Medrud.

Dottie worked as a medical transcriptionist for the medical group. She was a faithful member of the City Park Church of Christ, and loved to read and study her Bible. She loved her church family, taking care of her husband, and living on her farm. Dottie loved her friends and enjoyed their visits. Children loved to visit her and enjoyed her treasure box full of goodies.

She enjoyed hiking in Alaska and scuba diving. Dottie loved the Ozarks, flowers and being outdoors. She trained dogs for hunting and law enforcement. Dottie was a great friend to many and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Elton Brown.

Dorothy is survived by her sister Jazann and Jim Harmon of Lamar, AR; two nephews: Jimmy Harmon and Corey Harmon of Lamar, AR; a host of good friends; and her church family who loved her dearly.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday August 3, 2018 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Bates, & Keith Avaritt officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. With Corey Harmon, Jimmy Harmon, Dusten Stepp, Jeremy Avaritt, Garrett Siemens, and Cody Reeves serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home
