Nelson Chavers, 78, of Knoxville
died Monday, July 29, 2013.

A native of Lamar, he was a son
of the late John and Tamsey Jane
Atwell Chavers, barber for 40
years in Springdale prior to returning
to Knoxville in 2011, and preceded
in death by his wife, Freda
East Chavers; six sisters; and five
brothers.

Survivors include two sons,
John Roy Chavers and Jay Mowery
Chavers, both of Washington;
one stepson, Kenneth (Bertie)
Harkey of Springdale; several
grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren;
numerous nieces including
Bonnie (Bob) Nichols of Knoxville,
Dimple Cross, Louise Cully,
Frances Beech, and Jackie Pelts,
all of Clarksville, Lillie Woodard
of Coal Hill, and Imogene King
of Ozone; and two nephews, Jerry
Chavers of Morrilton and Benny
Jack Chavers of Oklahoma.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 1, at Hardwicke Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby
Dotson officiating. Burial was in
Knoxville Cemetery.


Active pallbearers were Bob
Nichols, Pete Nichols, Shawn
Nichols, Jody Storms, John
Massey, and J.R. Anglin.

Honorary pallbearers were William
Nichols, Matt Nichols, Larry
Chavers, and Bob Hall.

Freda Louise Chavers, 77, of Springdale, formerly of Clarksville, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at North West Medical Center Hospital in Springdale.

A native of the Spadra Community, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Bertha Porter East, member of the Assembly of God Church, and was preceded in death by one brother, Wildon East.

Survivors include her husband, Cyrus Nelson Chavers; one son, Kenneth Wayne Harkey of Springdale; one sister, Dorothy Faye Thomas of Springdale; one brother, Billy East of Coal Hill; two grandchildren, Vicki Phelps of Lowell and Shelia Anthney of Springdale; and four great-grandchildren, Bethany and Brandon Anthney and Christopher and Cory Phelps.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Dotson officiating. Burial was in Knoxville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Thomas Phelps, Donald Anthney, Bob Nichols, Matt Nichols, Bob Hall and Junior Anglin.
