Arvie Erma (Self) Hicks, 101, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away September 11, 2020 in Monroe, La. She was born March 23, 1919 in Sasakwa, Okla., to Edna Ann (Cassell) Self and Isaac W. Self. She married Boris Alexander (Radionoff) Hicks April 3, 1938 and remained married 43 years until his death November 3, 1980.

Mrs. Hicks was a dietitian at the Nazareth hospital in Mineral Wells, Texas before and during World War II. In 1945, she moved the family to Bentonville, Ark., where she became a homemaker and raised her family. She was a long time member of the Methodist Church of Centerton, Ark.

Mrs. Hicks will be remembered as a happy person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She is preceeded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Adel Self and Betty Jean Treadway; brother, JW Treadway; and son, Ernest Eugene Hicks.

She is survived by her daughter, Marrion Hicks Perry and husband, Rowland H Perry; grandsons, Michael Allen Hicks and wife, Brenda, Jason Eugene Hicks, Andrew Thomas Shaver and wife, Kelly, and Beau Alexander Shaver; and many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will begin at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, September 16, in Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Bentonville with a service to follow at 11 a.m. The burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hiwasse. Online condolences can be made at www.callisonlough.com.
