Ernest Johnston, Jr. 84 of Camden, AR, went to be with Jesus Friday, February 26, 2021. Ernest was a wonderful man and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and grandparent.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Johnston, Sr. and Mary Helen Johnston of Camden; his wife, Ruth Mosley Johnston; son, Todd Johnston; daughter, Becky Lee Johnston; and grandson, Dustin King.
He is survived by two daughters, Terri Anderson and Anis of Ashdown, AR and Tonya Johnson of Fouke, AR; brother and sisters Jim Johnston, Sarah Biggers, Louise Vanlandingham, Sue Yates, and Ann Parks; grandchildren, Sean Johnston of Conway, AR, Gavin Johnston, Corbin Johnston of Mobile, AL, Christian Johnson of Texarkana, AR and David Adams and Isabella of Ft. Worth, TX; great-grandchildren, Nathanial and Noah Adams.
Ernest loved the Lord more than anything and had a personal connection with Him and that his one great responsibilities on earth, was teaching his family about the Lord by making sure we read our bibles every day, by helping us memorize our bible verses and keeping them in our hearts and praying that each one of us would grow up to having our own personal relationship with Jesus. Ernest also had a beautiful voice and he loved to sing to the Lord every chance he got, but especially with the sweet people he had met at church.
Ernest was a proud veteran and was trained to be an Army Medic and served overseas in Germany with his wife Ruth and their 1st child Becky Lee.
Ernest was a worker bee and finally decided when he was 75 years old to retire for the fifth time, he also had a big heart and loved sharing with anyone that needed his help, especially children and his four-legged friends of any kind. He still has a four-legged friend named Honeybun, and his sister Sarah and his cousin Sharon feed and visit with.
Services will be graveside at Moss Cemetery in Bearden, AR at 2pm Saturday, March 6, 2021 and in lieu of flowers the family would hope you could donate in memory of Ernest to a charity of your choice. Pastor Kerry Carpenter will officiate.
