Helen Francis Neely, 70, of Osceola, Ark., died Thursday, April 20, 2000, after a long illness. She was born in Blytheville, Ark., on April 16, 1930, the daughter of the late J.C. and Helen Frances Barron Buchanan.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osceola, Ark. She was a 1948 graduate of Osceola High School and attended TCSW and the University of Arkansas. She was a lifelong member of the Junior Auxiliary of Osceola, Ark. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Frances Barron Buchanan; her father, J.C. Buchanan; and her stepmother, Jane Buchanan.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey Neely; three daughters, Kerry Neely, Jaye Neely Tipton, and Fanny Neely-Jones; and four grandchildren, John Tipton, Will Tipton, Helen Frances Jones, and Charlie Jones.
Services were held on Saturday, April 22, 2000, 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Osceola, Ark., with Rev. Allen Rainey and Dr. Richard Maddock officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Blytheville, Ark.
