When Bobbie June Lewis was born on June 6, 1918, in Potts Camp, Mississippi, her father, Albert, was 30, and her mother, Cornelia, was 31. She had seven brothers and two sisters. She died as a teenager on October 3, 1934, in Memphis, Tennessee, and was buried in Blytheville, Arkansas.

When Albert "Bert" Jackson Lewis was born on July 1, 1887, in Potts Camp, Mississippi, his father, Martin, was 40 and his mother, Cornelia, was 34. He married Cornelia "Neelie" Jane Gullett Lewis and they had ten children together. He then married Edith Massey Lewis on April 3, 1936, in Craighead, Arkansas. He died on February 14, 1963, in Osceola, Arkansas, at the age of 75, and was buried in Blytheville, Arkansas.
