When William Boone Dickson was born on August 16, 1876, in Thaxton, Mississippi, his father, William, was 33 and his mother, Amanda, was 38. He married Alice Udell Coward on January 18, 1900, in Pontotoc, Mississippi. They had eight children in 15 years. He died on February 20, 1963, in Blytheville, Arkansas, at the age of 86, and was buried there.
