When Doris Shannon was born on March 28, 1903, in Arkansas, her father, Charles, was 30, and her mother, Eunice, was 20. She married Edwin August Stovesand on January 23, 1925, in Lonoke, Arkansas. They had three children during their marriage. She died in May 1986 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, at the age of 83.
