When Elmer Edward Hemme was born on April 5, 1901, in Salt Pond, Missouri, his father, George, was 36 and his mother, Katherine, was 34. He married Sophia H Williams on July 22, 1922, in Grant, Arkansas. They had ten children in 11 years. He died on December 19, 1950, in Arkansas City, Arkansas, at the age of 49, and was buried in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Sophia H Williams was born on August 16, 1904, in Arkansas. She married Elmer Edward Hemme on July 22, 1922, in Grant, Arkansas. They had ten children in 11 years. She died on October 26, 1980, at the age of 76, and was buried in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
