When Edwin Levi Prothro was born on April 19, 1909, in Romance, Arkansas, his father, William, was 31 and his mother, Rhoda, was 30. He had two brothers and six sisters. He died as a child on August 6, 1911, in his hometown, and was buried in Arkansas.
