Lavell Slaten, age 69 of Searcy, died Sunday in Little Rock . She was born November 12, 1936 in Floyd , Arkansas to Eli and Bess Weatherley. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a member of the Gideons Auxiliary, a nurse since 1975, office nurse for James S. Lewis, M.D. for 23 years, and a Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver recipient. She is survived by her husband, Doyle Slaten of Searcy; two sons, Keith Slaten and wife Cindy of Lonoke, Arkansas , Charles Bradley Slaten and wife Amanda of Georgetown, Texas; three grandchildren, Kathleen Slaten, Nicholas Slaten, Victoria Slaten; and one brother, Delton Weatherley and wife Melba of Floyd. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:00p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery . Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
