SILOAM SPRINGS - Janice Deloris (Burk) Mounger, 77, died May 23, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Born March 29, 1939, in Springdale, Ark., she was the daughter of Chester Burk and Josephine Jones Burk. Janice married Karl B. Mounger on Jan. 8, 1960. She was a longtime clerk for Arkansas Western Gas in Siloam Springs. Janice was the 2009 recipient of the Pioneer Citizen Award. Janice was a former director of Girl Scouts in Siloam Springs and a past member of The League of Women Voters. She was a past member of the Siloam Springs Library Board and Manna Center Board. Janice was a member of First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs and had served on various church committees. She is a member of Entre Nous.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Jo; and one daughter, Karla Jan. She is survived by her husband, Karl of the home; one daughter, Brietta Cleveland and husband Mike of Benton, Ark.; one son, Bryan Mounger and wife Gael of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren: Bryson Cleveland and wife Korri of Siloam Springs; Megan Eidson and husband Baron of Plano, Texas; Lauren Cleveland of Rogers, Ark.; Rhys Mounger of Des Moines, Iowa; Meredith Mounger and Barrie Mounger of Plano; ten great grandchildren; one nephew, Joe Lewallen and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one niece, Debi Padgett and husband Doug of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters-in-law: Ruth Jones and husband Larry; Judy Gardenhire and husband Jay; many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Siloam Springs, with Dr. Larry Dodgen and Dr. Randy Rowlan officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Manna Center, 670 Heritage Court, Siloam Springs, Ark., 72761.
