Rachel Frances Butler, 82, of Rose Bud, Arkansas, died Friday, November 26, 2010 in Heber Springs. She was born November 13, 1928 in Bay, Arkansas a daughter of the late Lindsey and Sara Nancy Elizabeth Sanders Coleman. She was a farmer, homemaker and had dedicated her life to her family.
She is survived by her children, Allen, Clark and Jeff VanDon, Joan Bufford and Nancy Adkins; step-children, Jack, Larry, Junior, John, Bob and Danny Butler, Linda Griffin, Carolyn and Liz Butler, Sandra Chavez and Virginia Tate; sisters, Betty Dickens and Zine Ashley; 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Butler; sisters, Eddie Kinmen, Ollie Whitlock, Lizzy Buchannan and Mary Sanders; brothers, Cecil Whitlock and Lindsey Coleman.
Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Interment will be in the Velvet Ridge Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
