Mrs. Edna Estell Duncan Barnes age 98, of Cave City, Arkansas died Friday, April 19, 2013. She had been in poor health the past four years.
Mrs. Barnes was born March 6, 1915 in Evening Shade, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Lee Duncan and Louise Runsic Duncan. Mrs. Barnes was a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Barnes married Troy Barnes in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She is survived by two daughters Johnnie Lilly and husband Charles of Popular Bluff. Missouri and Wilma Hart of Valdosta, Georgia; five sons Glen Barnes and wife Jackie of Forrest City, Carl Barnes and wife Polly of Forrest City, Jimmy Barnes and wife Julia of Fort Worth, Texas, Tommy Barnes and wife Debbie of Sherman, Texas and Bobby Joe Barnes of Cave City. Seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive her. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Van and Lavonda Lambert.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 4:00 before the service. Visit online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net. Under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
