Mrs. Mellie S. Bishop, 80, of the Marysville Community, died Wednesday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Marysville Methodist Church with the Rev. John Dill officiating. Burial will follow in Marysville Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Mrs. Bishop was born March 29, 1894 in Union County the daughter of the late Henry and Lucy Owens Snider. She was a life-long resident of this area and a member of the Marysville United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, J. H. Bishop of Marysville; two sons, J. E. Bishop, of Deer Island, Ore. and Darce Bishop of Marysville; one sister, Mrs. W. T. McKinnon of Wesson; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Dallas Odell, Earnest Odell, O. E. Bishop, Wade Davis, Larry Goza and Lavelle Vinson. (El Dorado News Times - November 7, 1974)
