Son of Jacob M Cagle and Margaret C. Flatford.
When William Charles Cagle was born on December 9, 1880, in Arkansas, his father, Jacob, was 24 and his mother, Margaret, was 16. He married Claudia M Wiley and they had 11 children together. He also had one son from another relationship. He died on October 6, 1941, in Pulaski, Arkansas, at the age of 60, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
