Lorenzo Tice Morris, 76, of the Kenova community near Smackover, died in a local hospital at 1 p.m. Friday after a lengthy illness. He was born Dec. 24, 1888, in Baxter County, the son of Jesse and Betty Blankenship Morris. He had been a resident of Union County for 40 years. He was a retired pipefitter and was a member of El Dorado Steamfitters Local No. 706. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Julia Brannan Morris of Smackover; two sons, Clarence Morris of Smackover and L. T. Morris of Louann; three daughters, Mrs. M. A. Ward of El Dorado and Mrs. P. G. Hayner and Mrs. C. H. Copeland of Norphlet; two step sons, G. C. Jamar of Smackover and Roy Hennegar of Brinkley; three sisters, Mrs. Kate Abbey of Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Mary Martin of Kansas City, Kan. and Mrs. Betty Eva of Chicago, Ill. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. Zane Chesser and the Rev. Tom Bray officiating. Burial will be in Norphlet Cemetery.
