Carroll Vern Glover, Jr. 91, of Guy, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 22, 2013. He was born on Thursday, August 25, 1921 in Guy to the late Carroll Vern and Elva Belle (Battles) Glover, Sr.

Mr. Glover was a Marine Veteran and expert rifleman who served in World War II. He was a member or Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was the first post master of Guy and owned and operated his own general store for more than forty years. Mr. Glover was a member of the Guy-Perkins School board for fifteen years. He was an avid crappie fisher and had a passion for cooking. Hush puppies were his special along with his homemade lemonade. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Those left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Anna Dean (Grimes) Glover of Guy; son, Carroll Vern Glover, III “Sonny” (Ann); daughter, Teresa Hicks (Paul) both of Guy; six grandchildren, Joey Glover (Kim), Missy Marshall, Jeremy Glover, Jamie Hicks (Julie), Amy Monahan (RJ) and Lorianne Graves (Robb); nine great-grand children, Colt Glover, Ashley Hicks, Alan “Bubba” Kennedy, Dylan and Shane Hicks, Shelby Marshall, Hogan Hicks, Elias Graves and Anna Monahan; two sisters, Marjorie Rimmer of Guy and Polly Presley (Jim) of Vilonia; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Chuck, Joe, Max and Truman; sister, Virginia Pratt.

Funeral services are set for 11:00a.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Guy. Burial will follow in Copperas Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jason Ward and Bro. Gary Burdin officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Sunday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Rimmer, Kenny Glover, Tommy Pratt, Randy Presley, James Glover, Dwight Rimmer and Don Ward. Honorary pallbearers, Charlie Parker, Damon Poole, Charlie Alexander, Thom Battles and Johnny Wilson

Anna Dean Glover, 85, of Guy passed from this life Sunday, June 5, 2016. She was born Monday, January 19, 1931 in Guy, Arkansas to James Vernie and Floy Montgomery Grimes. She was a member of Guy Church of Christ. Anna was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, often traveling with her family to watch her granddaughter play softball. She had many hobbies including reading, bowling, card games, and going to casinos and horse races. She was known for her hospitality and love of family get togethers and holidays. She was a wonderful cook, known for her rolls, meringue pies and karo nut pies. She loved coffee, roses and red birds, but her greatest love of all was her family. She always responded to ''I love you'' with a reply of ''I love you more.''

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Carroll Vern Glover Jr., sister Iva Lea Hill, brothers J.E. Grimes and Larry Grimes.

She is survived by her son Carroll ''Sonny'' Glover III of Guy, daughter Teresa Hicks and husband Paul of Guy, grandchildren Joey Glover (Kim), Missy Sackett (James), Jeremy Glover, Jamie Hicks (Julie), Amy Monahan (RJ), Lorianne Graves (Robb), great grandchildren Colt Glover, Ashley Hicks, Alan ''Bubba'' Kennedy, Dylan Hicks, Shane Hicks, Shelby Marshall, Hogan Hicks, Elias Graves and Anna Monahan. Other survivors include sister Sue Dawson (Delbert) of Mayflower, brothers Charles Grimes (Peggy) of Rector, Bud Grimes (Pid) of Conway and Don Grimes (Paulette) of Piggott along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10am, Thursday June 9, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Jason Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Wednesday June 8, 2016 at the funeral home.
