Richard Uzell Lawson the son of Columbus Jefferson Lawson and May (Lamb) Lawson. Annie Arlene (Lakey) Lawson daughter of Rev. Henry Lakey and Margie (Morris) Lakey.

Richard U. Lawson, 75, of Walnut Ridge, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center. Born September 4, 1940 in Walnut Ridge, son of Columbus Jefferson and May Lamb Lawson.

He attended Oak Hill General Baptist Church on a regular basis, he built many things for the church to enjoy. He was a farmer and truck driver.He was united in marriage to Arlene Lakey December 29, 1983.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and May Lawson, a son, Ethan, a daughter, Rhonda, two sisters, Lavonda and Virginia and a brother, J.C. and eleven half-brothers and sisters.Â

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Lawson of the home for 33 years; two sons, Steve and Bryan; four daughters, Shalene, Carrie, Teresa and Tammie; two special granddaughters, Kelsey Stone and Holly Rutledge; a sister, Peggy Jones and husband Gene; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be, Brian Hon, Chuck Gutshall, Tommy Greer, Kelsey Stone, Holly Rutledge and Jay Smith

Honorary pallbearers will be, Chuck Pyle, Steve Cravens, Paul Bennett Jr, Bruce Manning, Aaron Manning, Hoppy Gosha and the Men of the Oak Hill General Baptist Church.

WALNUT RIDGE — Richard U. Lawson, 75, of Walnut Ridge, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Lawson of the home; two sons, Steve and Bryan; four daughters, Shalene, Carrie, Teresa and Tammie; two special granddaughters, Kelsey Stone and Holly Rutledge; a sister, Peggy Jones and husband Gene; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. today in Bryan Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Lee and Marion Stringer officiating. Interment will be in Old Military Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday.

Annie Arlene Lawson, 86, of Walnut Ridge, died October 31, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Born December 27, 1936, in Sedgwick; daughter of the late Rev. Henry and Margie Morris Lakey. She was united in marriage to Richard Lawson in 1985. She worked in a factory and was a loving wife and homemaker. She loved gardening and picking Okra; she was known to some as the Vegetable Lady of Lawrence County. She was an active member of the Oak Hill General Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard in 2016; her loving daughter, Rhonda Sue Trigg; one granddaughter, Brandy Trigg; two brothers, Ernest (Man) and Cecil Lakey; and a sister, Louetta Achor; and many other relatives and friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Marlene Hon of Walnut Ridge, Carrie Gutshall (Chuck) of Walnut Ridge, and Cynthia Shalene Pope (Kerry) of Bono; one son, Brian Hon (Tara Stafford) of Walnut Ridge; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Dixie Rice (Jr) of Powhatan, and Sue Taylor of Paragould; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Friday, November 3, 2023; at 11 A.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Craig Lee and Rev. Doran Gregory officiating. Pallbearers will be Chuck Gutshall, Brian Hon, Michael McGonigal, Jay Smith, Ben Stone, and Chris Fausz. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary McGonigal, Kerry Pope, Chris Smith, Clint and Kenny Trigg. Interment will follow in the Old Military Cemetery in Sedgwick.

Visitation will be Thursday, 5 P.M. till 7 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel.
