Shirley White Fetherolf of Conway passed away on Dec. 5, 2014, after a courageous battle against cancer.
She was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Little Rock to Edgar and Wanda (Jolly) White, and was raised on the family farm in Greenbrier.
She attended the University of Arkansas and earned a master's degree in education. It was at Fayetteville where she met her future husband, Daniel, and they were married for 43 years. Shirley was an educator and media specialist at school systems in Arkansas, Kansas, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and North Carolina. She retired from the Arkansas Department of Education in 2013. She recently enjoyed a trip to New Zealand last spring. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Her mother, and a brother, Harvey, predeceased her.
Survivors include her father, husband, and three brothers, Tommy, George and Michael; three sisters, Ruth Marie Conklin, Mary Etta Peterson, and Nancy Turley; four nephews, Shawn White, William White, Michael White and Ben White; and two nieces, Dr. Tracy Conklin, and Rebecca Clark. Deep appreciation for the staff at Hospice Home Care for making her last days comfortable. Special thanks to her best walking buddy, Marion Gray.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7th, and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McNew Cemetery in Greenbrier, with Rev. Mark McDonald officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aglow International, Edmond, Wash., or to CBN, Virginia Beach, Va.
