Edith the wife of Orvel Eugene "Gene" Brightwell. Edith Geneva (Overtuff) Brightwell the daughter of Henry Carroll Overtuff and Lula Bell Overtuff.
Edith Geneva Brightwell
Edith Geneva Brightwell, 88, of Imboden, died Nov. 18, 2016, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Nov. 15, 1928, in Tyronza, she was the daughter of Henry Carroll and Lula Bell Overtuff. She was a retired rural contract mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service with 35 years of service. She was a member of the Imboden Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Brightwell; a son, Ben Brightwell; three brothers, Cecil, Harvey and Carroll Overtuff; and two sisters, Ruby Smith and Bonnie Fulk.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Day, Springfield, Mo., and Patty Dickson and husband Eugene, Imboden; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was set for Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hope Cemetery in Imboden with Gevan Murphy officiating. Cox Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Dickson, Larry Dickson, Michael Cole, Phillip Dickson, Ben Brightwell and Jerrod Rainwater. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Cole, Amber Rainwater and Shayla Dickson.
