COBBLE, Susan KELTON - Mrs. Susan Cobble died Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Johnson, on North Eighth street at the age of 79 years. Funeral services were held at the residence Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. Dodson of the Central M.E. church. Burial was at Bentonville by the side of her husband who died a good many years ago. Susan Kelton was born near Greenville in East Tennessee and was married to J.R. Cobble July 16, 1858. Of this union was born seven children, four of whom are now living. She came to Benton county in 1871 and most of her life since then was spent on the farm near Bentonville but for several years she had been living here with Mrs. Johnson. She was converted and joined the M.E. church, South at the age of eighteen and was a devoted Christian mother and wife. Her death brings to a close a long and active life.
