FAYETTEVILLE Edna Lea Watkins Ferguson, age 94, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. She was born Dec. 17, 1920 in Alpena, Ark., the daughter of Charles and Arlie Collier Watkins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard L. Stone in 1944 and Edwin Ferguson in 1988; her parents, a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Osborne and a brother, Hillman Watkins.

She retired as a secretary from the United States Forestry Service and was a member of University Baptist Church in Fayetteville for over 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and played the piano on a daily basis. She loved performing with her infamous kitchen band at area nursing homes.

She is survived by her son, Bob Stone and his wife Kay of Branson, Mo.; a son-in-law, Rick Osborne of Fayetteville; a sister, Dorothy Corbin and her husband Bill of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Dr. Pierce Osborne, Suzanne Osborne, Dr. Shelby Osborne and Ali Maree Stone; two great-grandchildren, Robert Hays Osborne and Elizabeth June Osborne; several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Bess, who was her best friend.

Visitation will be held 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Moore's Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday at Moore's Chapel followed by burial at Fairview Memorial Gardens. To sign the online guest book, visit www.mooresfuneralchapel.com.
