ROGERS — Viola Katherine Grimes, 87, of Rogers, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Ashley Health and Rehab in Rogers.
Viola was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Rogers, to the late William and Lena (Mullins) Fields.
She was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, James E. Grimes; two daughters, Linda Grimes Crawford and Barbara Ann Grimes Tindell; one great-granddaughter, Barbara Rose Leggett; two brothers, Charles and Glen Fields; and one sister, Doris Fields.
Survivors include two sons, James P. Grimes and wife, Bobbye, of Avoca, and Tony Grimes and wife, Deborah, of Avoca; one daughter, Pamela Meeker and husband, Charlie, of Avoca: one sister-in-law, Pauline Fields of Rogers; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Viola will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca with a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.
