J. W. Williams, age 79, a resident of Cullendale, died at his home at 3:15 p.m. Monday. He came to Cullendale from Dallas County nearly 15 years ago. Almost a life-long member of the Methodist Church, he was outstanding for his faithful service to his church and to community activities. The J. W. Williams Class of Fairview church was named in his honor a few years ago. Surviving are his wife, one brother, Thomas of Camden, one sister, Mrs. Effie Jones of Crossett, Ark., three sons, Raymond, Powell of Camden, and Harold of Los Angeles, Calif; three daughters, Mrs. Frank McManus, and Mrs., Curtis Turner of Camden; seventeen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Fairview Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. James A. Simpson and Rev. Murray in Charge. Burial will be at Tulip cemetery in Dallas County. Active pall-bearers will be the grandsons and Grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be R. H. Shaddock, Homer L. Anderson, W. F. Sales, Dr. J. L. Dedman, Sid Wood, H. O. Lubbes, C. E. Hamilton, John Myers, O. R. S. Greenwood, A. N. Fogle, T. J. Cross, Homer Mullins, and Hugh Smith. (Camden News - February 15, 1955)
