Vilonia man killed in head-on collision

Kenneth Joseph Brown, 24, of Vilonia was killed Sunday and two others injured in a head-on collision on State Highway 65 just north of Clinton.

A preliminary report filed by the Arkansas State Police said Brown was southbound in a 1999 Acura when he entered the oncoming lane to pass another vehicle.

Brown's passenger, Cory J. Muldoon, 23, of Conway is listed in stable condition at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

The driver of the northbound vehicle, Kelly Crowe, 22, of Springfield, Mo., also was transported to UAMS. Her condition was unavailable Monday.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:47 p.m. Road conditions were recorded as clear and dry.

Kenneth Joseph Brown, 24, of Vilonia went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Born on February 24, 1988, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was a son to Kenneth E. Brown and Vivian A. Schaefer Brown. Joseph was a happy young man that loved life. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, who loved life and his family. He worked at Parker Cadillac, in Little Rock and was in school to further his education as an Automotive Technician. He was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed riding four-wheelers, going mudding and playing the guitar. He was a self taught guitar player that enjoyed playing for family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his loving parents; sisters: Natalie Wankum and husband Jeff Wankum and Samantha Smith and husband Jamie Smith; his grandmother Joan Brown and husband Irvin; grandfather Oscar Schaefer; nieces: Taylor, Hailey, Zoe, Sophia, and Ally and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 25, at First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor James King officiating. Interment will follow at Beryl Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer is Cory J. Muldoon. Serving pallbearers are John A. Hatcher, II, Lucas Smith, Brian Brown, U. Lamar Polk, Jeremiah Ashcraft and Caleb Gibson. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p m on Thursday, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.
