Evelyn B. Tubbs, 87, of Conway, went to be with her Lord Friday, December 14, 2007.
She was born May 21, 1920, in Conway to the late Guy L. Burke and Mary Edna Joslin Burke.
She was preceded in death in 1987 by her devoted husband, John D. Tubbs. They met when they were ages 6 and 9 and married when they were 16 and 19. They enjoyed fifty years and eight months of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Oliver Burke; sister, Elizabeth Walter; and brother, Richard Burke.
She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whom we lovingly called "Nana".
Her life was centered around her love for her Lord. This was expressed through her prayers, Sunday School teaching, taking care of the sick, and by providing and arranging flowers for her church and decorating for showers, weddings and anniversaries.
She was a member of Conway First Church of The Nazarene.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Jeffries and husband Larry of Conway, Susan Trent and husband Barry of Conway; grand-children, Greg Jeffries and wife Sheila, April Trent, Bryan Trent and wife Dawne; great grandchildren, Kristin Jeffries, Tyler Paige Trent, Joshua Jeffries, John and Morgan Trent; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Rev. Larry Jeffries, pastor of Living Water Nazarene Church in Little Rock, and Rev. Tim Kellerman pastor of Conway First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday.
Pallbearers are Greg Jeffries, Bryan Trent, Barry Trent, Joshua Jeffries, Lee Hodge, and Everett Lybarger.
