Ruth Mae (Durham) Miller, died peacefully at the age of 92 on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 with her children by her side. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, and homemaker.

Ruth loved her family and valued close friendships. She enjoyed traveling, being out in nature, and tending to her garden. Always an inspiration and source of guiding principles for her children and grandchildren, she will be deeply missed and remember with love.

The only daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Mabel M. (Taylor) Durham, she was born on Jan. 7, 1921 in Mayflower, Ark. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jennings Miller. She is survived by her children, Nancy C. Walsh (Thomas L.), Joe A. Miller (Kathleen D.), Dr. David L. Miller (Karen W.); grandchildren, Thomas Lonnie Walsh III, Wendy Walsh Quinn, Bryan Scott Walsh, Kathie Walsh Roberson, Michael Curtis Walsh, Alan Jennings Miller, Deese R. Miller, Megan Elisabeth Miller, Benjamin John Miller; 16 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and six nephews and one niece.

A memorial service will take place at a later date in Mayflower, Ark. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with Ruth's care. To leave a special message for the family, please visit www.newcomerindiana.com.
