Mrs. Dovie Speights, 85, of Conway died Thursday (Sept. 24, 1998) at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 5, 1912, at Coal Hill (Johnson County), daughter of James A. and Dollie Moody Helton, she was a foster grandparent at Workforce in Conway and a member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Conway.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Blankenship.
Survivors are a son, James Speights of Conway; two daughters, Lillian Price of Conway and Judy Bates of Garland, Texas; a brother, Pete Helton of Conway; four sisters, Opal Brewer, Callie Mae Lachowsky, Irene Posey and Mary Alice Helton, all of Conway; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She also adopted her deceased daughter's three children, Bob Blankenship of Conway, Wyck Blankenship of Little Rock and Mary Ann White of Cherokee Village (Sharp County).
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home with Elder Gary L. Hervey and Elder Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don Reeves, Danny Helton, Bill Helton, Leon Helton, Larry Brewer and Dr. Michael Price.
