GENTRY — Ray Couch Jr., 72, of Gentry died Nov. 4, 2000, in Bentonville. He was born July 11, 1928, in Siloam Springs to Ernest Ray and Ida May Warren Couch. He was a life resent of the Siloam Springs and Gentry area and a graduate of Gentry High School. He worked for Pet Milk Co. for more than 25 years and also was a livestock farmer. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a nember of Eagle's Nest Ministry of the Central Christian Center in Joplin, Mo. He was a member of First Christian Church in Gentry.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Bergthold Couch of the home, to whom be was married Dec. 7, 1947; three sons and two daughters-in-law, William Roy Couch of Rogers, James Alan Couch and Elaine of Siloam Springs and Kent Warren Couch and Jamie of Gentry; two daughters and one son-in-law, Yvonne Annette Couch and Rita Fay Sherman and Robert, all of Bentonville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, William E. "Bill" Coach of Siloam Springs; five sisters, Helen Campbell of Benson, Ariz., Wilma McDowell of Siloam Springs, Oneita McKnight of Derby, Kan., Catherine Bergthold of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Betty Hendrix of Siloam Springs.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Gentry, with Jim Whisenant officiating. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

GENTRY — Inez Alvina Couch, 88-year-old resident of Gentry, Ark., died on Aug. 1, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville, Ark. Born June 22, 926, in Corn, Okla., she was the daughter of William Bergthold and Marie Penner Bergthold.

She was a self-taught piano player that, as a young woman, played music with her family quartet on KUOA radio.

Inez married Ray Junior Couch on Dec. 7, 1947, in Siloam Springs, Ark. Inez retired from Jet Stream after 25 years. She was a member of First Christian Church, Gentry, where she played the piano every Sunday.

She also played at Falling Springs Church and Mason Valley Baptist Church for monthly singings, and weekly at the Gentry Senior Activity Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

She was survived by three sons, William Ray "Bill" Couch and wife Paige of Gentry, James Alan Couch and wife Scarlett of West Siloam Springs, Okla., and Kent Warren Couch and wife Jamie of Gentry; two daughters, Yvonne Couch of Bentonville, Ark., and Rita Fay Sherman of Fayetteville, Ark.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Ernest Bergthold of Lodi, Calif., and Raymond Bergthold of Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs with Mr. Jim Whisenant officiating.

Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. To sign the online guest book, please visit www.wassonfuneralhome.com.
