Carrell Emerson White, 79, World War II veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Good Conduct Medals, died in his home in Vilonia on Tuesday (June 17, 2003).
He was a member of the Harold V. White post 6855 VFW in Vilonia.
He was born in Conway on Oct. 5, 1923, to the late William Carrell White and Mary Elizabeth Seay White.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, William Carrell White; brothers Henry, Carl B., Clarence T., Harold Vorce, Virgil; and sisters Florence, Dessi, Margaret and Myrtle.
Survivors were two sisters, Mary Ellen Crow and Daisy Elizabeth Davis; his wife of 57 years, Eleanor Corrine Barker White; a daughter, Cathryn Gayle Carper and husband, John; a son, Carrell Lynn White and wife, Nancy; six grandchildren, Michael L. Jaco and wife, Gretchen, Sonya G. Jaco, Brian L. White, Bradley H. White, James C. White, Dustin L. Jaco; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Murphy, Conrad Murphy, Kaden Jaco and Mackenzie Reeves; and a host of other friends and relatives.
Services were 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with Joe Engdahl officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.
