Mrs. Barbara Elizabeth Speaker Wilkins, 73, of Conway, died Monday (May 21, 2001) at her home.

Born March 3, 1928, in Conway, daughter of the late Richard Edwin and Clara Mae Markham Speaker, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Conway. She attended Texas State College for Women and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1947. She was a member of the Joy of Living Bible Study and Conway Civic League.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Homer Wilkins.

Survivors are a daughter, Janet Leslie Crow of Conway; a son, Edwin Homer Wilkins of Richardson, Texas; two sisters, Mary Virginia Oliver and Helen Benafield, both of Conway; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at First Baptist Church in Conway with Dr. Dale Wicker officiating. Private family burial services will be held today. Arrangements are by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway.
