Linda Jean Hicks Johnson passed away on May 19, 2011, in Frisco, TX where she had been living with her daughter and family. Linda was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.
She was born March 6, 1945 in Smackover, AR. She was the oldest daughter of the late W.H. & Myrtis Hicks of Norphlet. She graduated at Smackover High School in 1963. She was preceded in death by an infant twin daughter, Melanie Delee Mitchell and her parents W.H. and Myrtis Hicks.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele Mitchell Genusa and her husband Robert of Frisco, TX and Erica Dawn Johnson of Dallas; two granddaughters. Olivia Delee Genusa and Shaina Nicole Genusa of Frisco; a sister, Connie Sue Hicks Moore and husband Ed of Norphlet; a brother, David William Hicks of Norphlet; a niece, Marcie Roberts Allen of Norphlet; a great niece, Haley Dawn Wise of Lillie, LA; a great nephew, William Hunter Allen of Norphlet; a nephew, Marshal Wade Roberts and wife Shonda of Norphlet; great niece, Kelcy Laine Roberts of Louann; and her beloved best friend, Carolyn Stansbury and her husband Benny.
Linda was well loved by countless family and friends. Her life was lived to the fullest, always being there for those who needed her. Linda loved to travel and had seen many places on this earth. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana, aunt, sister and friend. Linda lived this fine life despite fighting polio since age 3. In spite of all her pain and suffering, Linda was always full of life and love and was an inspiration to all.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday in Young's Chapel with Bro. Bryce Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
