Lula Mae Furlow Tate, the 2nd child of six children born to the union of the late Joe Furlow and Viola (Albert) Furlow on August 25, 1930. She passed away peacefully on the morning of May 24, 2015 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness. She served faithfully until her health failed. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Carl Tate, Sr.; two sons, George Tate and Alfredo Tate; a grandson, Willie Yarnell McElroy; three sisters, Samella Milton, Lucy Mae Peebles, and Idella Grant.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons, Carl Jr. (Pearlene), Willie Jean (Emma), Etta James, Sr. of Camden and Cornell of Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Carla Louise McElroy (Will) and Mechelle Flannigan (Rev. Jackie) of Camden, AR; a nephew Keith B. Gafford that she raised; two sisters, Margaret Allen of Omaha, Nebraska and Carolyn Graham (Joseph); twenty five grandchildren; forty eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a dear friend, Mrs. Herdicine Gossett.

Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Services will be held 11:00 Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness followed by interment at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
