Nancy E. Mitchell, 56, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2011, in Little Rock. She was born August 30, 1955, to Terry Eugene Meeks and Patricia Morgan Meeks in El Dorado, AR.

Nancy worked as a secretary at Great Lakes for 28 years before her retirement; she was a mentor for South Arkansas Mental Health Unit, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include husband, Steve Mitchell of El Dorado; two children, Steven Mitchell and his wife Marla of Lake Charles, LA, Teri Beth Mitchell of El Dorado; two brothers, Richard Meeks and his wife Christa of Jackson, MS, Robert Meeks of El Dorado; aunt, Dora Jean Hanna; mother-in-law, Gaye Mitchell of El Dorado; her first grandchild, due in January; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, at Young's.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Young's Chapel with Rev. Jim Polk and Rev. Russell Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
