Bennie Jean Brooking Shankle, 87, of El Dorado went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Medical Center of South Arkansas.
She was born May 31, 1926 in Arkadelphia, AR to Benjamin David & Mary Hazel Fendley Brooking. Bennie was a homemaker, a charter member of Marrable Hill Baptist Church and a present member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Lennie Eugene Shankle of El Dorado; children, Billy Shankle of Farmerville, LA, Lennie Shankle of Natchitoches, LA, Randy Shankle of Fayetteville, AR & Pam Carr of El Dorado; grandchildren, Angelia Murphy, Michelle Dotson, Keitha Clark, Kipplyn Summers, Tamara Smith, Brian Shankle, Candace Black, Michael Shankle, Summer Shankle, Ben Shankle, & Lindsey Robicheaux; 33 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Young's Chapel with Rev. Carly Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
