George W. Ownbey, 69, 603 Holcomb St., Springdale, died June 24 in a Little Rock hospital. Born Aug. 11, 1907, at Springdale, he was the son of Carl Adolphus and Beulah Jones Ownbey and a member of First United Methodist Church. He attended Springdale schools, was a graduate of Kemper Military Academy, Booneville, Mo., attended the University of Arkansas and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in pharmacy. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired pharamcist.
Survivors include one brother, Carl A. Ownbey Jr., Farmington; one sister, Mrs. Keith (Virginia) Wilson, Independence, Mo.; two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sisco Chapel. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery under the direction of Sisco. Visiting hours will be at 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Sisco Chapel. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Pastors' Charity Fund.
