Christine Winford, 83
Mrs. Christine W. Winford, age 83 of Memphis, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Belmont Village Assisted Living in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born July 30, 1931 in Waynesboro, Tennessee to Dexter and Margaret (O'Leary) Woods.
Mrs. Winford married Thomas H. Winford on November 1, 1951 in Waynesboro, Tennessee.
Mrs. Winford's career involved volunteer services with the Methodist Church Choir and Methodist Youth Fellowship. She served as an assistant teacher and was instrumental in the Red Cross. She was a fifty year member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Winford enjoyed fifty one years of marriage to the love of her life, raising four children and entertaining family and friends in her home which abounded in love, peace, and prosperity.
Mrs. Winford is survived by two sons: Thomas Dexter Winford and wife Diane of Cape Carol, Florida and Frank Woods Winford and wife Beth of Conroe, Texas, two daughters: Margaret Winford Coffman and husband Larry of Las Vegas, Nevada and Charlotte Winford Zehring and husband Kyle of Memphis, Tennessee and six grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a granddaughter Kelsey Zehring.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork, Arkansas with Brother Bill Hughes officiating. A visitation will be Saturday from 10:00-1:00 p.m. at Roller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Norfork Volunteer Fire Department.
