Hazel Pauline Boatman Owens of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Hazel Pauline Boatman Owens, daughter of the late Ewin Franklin and Ollie Lively Boatman, was born October 30, 1927 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. She departed this life August 28, 2014 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 29 days. She was united in marriage to Lowell Dean Owens November 15, 1943 and to this union four children were born. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was employed by Capital Mercury Shirt Company; retiring after 45 years of employment. She was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by four children: Carroll Dean Owens of Hector, Arkansas, Janice Sue Estes of Brockwell, Betty Jean Guthrie of Calico Rock and Jerry Wayne Owens of Melbourne; thirteen grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lowell Dean Owens; her parents: Ewin and Ollie Boatman; two sisters: Gladys Owens Purdum and Willie Jared; three brothers: Eugene Boatman, Johnny Boatman and Ed Boatman; one grandson: Terry Humphries and one son-in-law: Victor Estes.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Leon Morehead and Donald Gillihan officiating. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be Friday, August 29 from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers: Garrett Wood, Carroll Owens, Jr., Alan Estes, Rusty Treat, Michael Owens, Joey Patten.
Honorary Pallbearers: John Huddleston, Sheldon Owens, Robert Patten, Garrett Colten, O. J. Owens and Colin Treat.
