ROGERS — Nona Julia Fairhurst, 89, of Rogers died March 23, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. She was born April 4, 1912, in Kansas City, Mo., to John and Nona O'Sullivan Leen. She was a homemaker, a published poet and a member of the Christian Church. She was a member of Alpha Delta Phi, and she moved to Rogers in 1977 from Wichita, Kan. Her husband, Harold Moore Fairhurst, died Oct. 26, 2001.
Survivors include one son, John Leen Fairhurst and wife Patricia of Blackjack, Mo.; one daughter, Judith Ann Rapps of Jefferson City, Mo.; two grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at noon today at Rogers Cemetery with Bobby Bell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at Benton County Funeral Home in Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
