FANT, Gene MILLER - The sudden death last Wednesday afternoon of Mrs. Wallace Fant {nee Gene Miller} was a great shock to the entire community for only a few friends knew before that morning that her condition was considered serious or that she was even ill and even now it seems hard to realize that her friends will never more hear her cheerful greetings or enjoy the pleasure of her company. Just twenty-one years old, a happy bride of but six months, she was still one of the girls, untouched as yet with the cares or trials of life. All that had gone before was but the pathway to the fuller and richer experiences that lay beyond and that seemingly stretched away in an unending vista of years of happiness and joy. But the final curtain was drawn so suddenly that relatives and friends were stunned by the shock. Born in Rogers and having lived here all her life, Gene Miller was one of the best known young ladies of the city and one of the most popular. She had much musical ability and spent two years in the Lexington {Mo.} Conservatory of Music. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Miller and the family is one of the best known in this section. On the 22nd of last December she married H. Wallace Fant, son of C.H. Fant and a brother of Mrs. W.F. Rozelle of this city. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Fant residence and the services were conducted by Reverend A.W. Wasson of the M.E. church, South. A large number of friends were present to pay their last respects to the memory of the deceased. The bereaved husband and relatives have the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
