SHERRY, Susan - Mrs. Susan Sherry, wife of Elder J.C. Sherry, died Thursday night, August 1st at her home on West Poplar street after a long illness. She had been an invalid for years and had been very feeble for many months. Funeral services were held at the residence Friday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. M.L. Anthony of the Christian church. Burial was in Rogers cemetery. Mrs. Sherry was born in Washington county, Ark. March 7, 1839 and was married to J.C. Sherry December 29, 1859. To this union were born nine children of whom five survive the mother and are as follows: A.W. Sherry, living east of Springdale; Mrs. Sarah Fletcher of Rogers; Mrs. Lilah Counts of Madison county; Mrs. Rose Gholson of Monett and Mrs. Bettie True of Clarkston, Wash. The first four named were present at the funeral. Mrs. Sherry had been a member of the Christian church for forty-five years. She came to Rogers with her family from Springdale some sixteen years or more ago but owing to poor health was never able to be much away from her home and was not known outside of her own immediate neighborhood. She was a consistent Christian woman. We are requested in the name of the bereaved husband and children to thank the friends and neighbors who were so kind and helpful during the long sickness and death of Mrs. Sherry and to assure them that it will always be held in warmest remembrance.
