Mr. Louis Padgett, age 94, of Heth, died Monday at his home in Heth. He had been in poor health for the past four months.
Mr. Padgett was born August 17, 1917, in Madison, Arkansas, and was the son of George W. Padgett and Emmer Watts Padgett. He was a farmer, a Veteran of the Navy, a member of the V.F.W. of West Memphis, and was a member of the Shell Lake Baptist Church.
Mr. Padgett married Leona Marts in 1940, and she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Lee Turner of Heth, two sons; Robert Padgett of Holly Grove, and Delbert Padgett of Heth, two sisters; Geneva Casey of Forrest City, and Carolyn Mitchusson of Wynne, nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He had one son, George William Padgett, two grandsons; Terry Padgett and Todd Padgett, who all preceded him in death.
Services for Mr. Padgett will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.

Leona Mae Padgett, age 79, of Heth, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis. Mrs. Padgett was born Jan. 1, 1921, in Clarendon to Henry and Gertie Yates. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was a housewife and a member of the Widener Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, George William Padgett in 1983. She married Louis Padgett in 1940 and he survives him along with two sons, Robert Padgett, of Marion, Delbert Padgett, of Heth; a daughter, Mary Lee Turner, of Heth; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, July 5, 2000, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 6, 2000, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home
