Mr. Alvin Lloyd Pounders, age 82, of Caldwell, died Sunday at his home in Caldwell. He had been in poor health for the past five months.
Mr. Pounders was born January 21, 1926, in the Shiloh Community, and was the son of James Smith Pounders and Sarah M. Taylor Pounders. He lived in Caldwell most of his life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell.
Mr. Pounders married Eliabeth 'Pete' Clark in 1958, and she preceded him in death in 2000. He married Joyce Procter in 2003 and she survives him along with one daughter, Renee Wilson of Alabama, one brother, Kenneth Pounders of Horseshoe Bend, one step-son, Ron Proctor of Forrest City, two step-daughters; Christy Duffel of Manila, Arkansas, and Janet Voundran of Washington State, a son-in-law, Dennis Gillenwater of Pennsylvania, four grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. He had one daughter, Alva Gillenwater and a son-in-law, Shawn Wood, both who preceded him in death.
Services for Mr. Pounders will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
