Mr. Lloyd Alton Latham Sr., age 94, of Forrest City, died Sunday at the White County Memorial Hospital in Searcy. He had been in the hospital for the past two weeks.
Mr. Latham was born March 11, 1918, in Posey, Arkansas, and was the son of James Andrew Latham and Pearl Perkins Latham. was a Veteran of World War II, was retired from the United States Postal Service, and was a member of the Beck Spur Baptist Church.
Mr. Latham married Eva Alleen Ellis in 1945, and she preceded him in death in 2007. He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Latham Gaines of McCroy, one brother, John Latham of Pine Tree, two sisters; Joy Taylor and Thelma Latham, both of Irving, Texas, seven grandchildren; Angie, and husband, Jeff, Nathan, Thomas, and wife, Brandy, Leah, Dawn, Crystal, and Leanne, four great-grandchildren; Austin, Madison, Parker, and Maeson. He had one son, Lloyd Alton Latham Jr., three sisters; Gladys Gill, Virgie McClain, and Dora Jones, two brothers; Arlie Latham and Clayton Latham, and one son-in-law, Danny Gaines, who all preceded him in death.
Services for Mr. Latham will be held at the Beck Spur Baptist Church, 2:00 P.M., Thursday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Eva Alleen Ellis Latham, age 80, of Forrest City, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at the White County Medical Center in Searcy. Mrs. Latham was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Forrest City, the daughter of Allen Riley Ellis and Eva Dora Beard Ellis. She lived in St. Francis County for most of her life, was retired from Sanyo manufacturing and was a member of the Beck Spur Baptist Church. Mrs. Latham married Lloyd A. Latham in 1945 and he survives her along with a daughter, Sandra Latham Gaines of McCrory; three sisters, Inez Shaw, Catherine Hiley and Dean Totty, all of Texas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Alton Latham. Visitation for Mrs. Latham will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Beck Spur Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Forrest Park Cemetery.
