Mrs. Bertha May Chambers, 88 of El Dorado, died Saturday in an El Dorado hospital after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Allen Fisher, Mrs. Chambers was born November 17, 1883 in Albion, Michigan. She was a retired school teacher, and had lived in Union County for the past eight years. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church of West Sacramento, California. Survivors include two sons, Charles Chambers of Camden and Ralph Chambers of Woodland, California; three daughters, Mrs. Ducile Ohlsen of El Dorado, Mrs. Georgia Hopkins of El Paso, Texas and Mrs. Alice Hopkins of Fairoaks, California; nine grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. The body will be taken to Elliott Baptist Church Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and services will be held there at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery by Youngs Funeral Home of El Dorado.
