John Thomas McFatter, 90, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on March 4, 2013 in Clinton, Arkansas. Mr. McFatter was born on June 14, 1922 in Port Gibson, Mississippi to Thomas Harvey and Annie LaPearl (Daniels) McFatter. Mr. McFatter was an Army veteran who served his country in World War II and the Korean War as well as Rhineland, Germany. He was involved in the invasion of Normandy as well as in General Patton's Third Army in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. McFatter also worked as a pharmacist until retirement. He was also a member of the White Water Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife Jewell (Duggan) McFatter of the home; two sons, Frank (Audrey) McFatter of Sherwood, Arkansas and James McFatter of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; one daughter, Karen (Randall) Kuykendall; four grandchildren, Lisa ( Lt. Col. US Air Force Tim) Murphy, Tech Sgt. US Air Force Daniel (Christine) McFatter, Klaus (Kerri) Kuykendall, and Kris Kuykendall; three great-grandchildren, Chase Murphy, Emma Murphy, and AbbyGale McFatter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Harvey and Annie LaPearl (Daniels) McFatter and one sister Hazel Ivy.
Visitation took place on Friday, March 8, 2013, from 6-8PM at the Roller Crouch Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. Services took place on Saturday, March 9, 2013, 2:00PM at the White Water Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Brother Phil Sutton officiating. Interment took place at Flatwoods Cemetery .
Pallbearers were James McFatter, Randall Kuykendall, Klaus Kuykendall, Frank McFatter, Kris Kuykendall, Tim Murphy, and Daniel McFatter
