Freddie O'Neil Nichols, 55, of Benton, passed away Saturday, May 9, 1992 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.
Mr. Nichols was a member of First Baptist Church in Lepanto.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Dixie Lee Nichols of Benton; two daughters, Mrs. Teresa Meeker of St. Louis, MO and Mrs. Diana Martin of Bryant; one son, Mr. Rick Nichols of Bryant; three sisters, Mrs. Wanda Doty of Fayetteville, Mrs. Phyllis Smith of Gulfport, MS, Mrs. Carolyn Carson of Hot Springs; two brothers, Don Nichols of Tupelo, MS and Joe Nichols of Tulsa, OK; five grandchildren, Melissa Meeker, Emory Martin III, Lori LeeAnn Nichols, Matthew Martin and David Nichols.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 12, 1992 at 2:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home in Lepanto with Rev. Ron Young officiating. Burial will follow in Nichols Cemetery.

Dixie Lee Ragland Nichols, 74, of Benton died Monday, July 18. She was born February 19, 1937, in Pine Bluff to the late Leroy Edwin "Chick" and Hazel Jewell Morris Ragland. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bryant. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Fred Nichols and her sister, Frances Orman.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Nichols of St. Louis, Mo., Rick Nichols and wife, Terri of Malvern and Diana Martin and husband, Emory of Lonsdale; six grandchildren, Melissa Thomas and husband, Craig of St. Charles, Mo., Maranda Wilson and husband, Nathan of Malvern, Emory Martin and wife, Tiffany of Benton, Lori Nichols of El Dorado, Matt Martin and wife, Kara of Benton, David Nichols of Malvern; seven great-grandchildren, Erica, Shiler, Charlie, Ava, Jordan, Mackenzie and Mkynli; nephew, Matt Orman and wife, Dusty of Bryant; and one great-nephew, Gray.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. today at Griffin Leggett Forrest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR 72002, with Hammett Evans officiating. A graveside committal service will be conducted at 3 p.m. in Nichols Cemetery in Marked Tree.
Serving as pallbearers are David Nichols, Emory Martin, Jr., Emory Martin III, Matt Martin, Craig Thomas and Matt Orman. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Wilson, Dane Wooten and Ben Ballisterri.
The family received friends the evening of July 20 at the funeral home.
