Virgil Troy Jones, 97, of Huntsville died July 22, 2006, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. He was born July 2, 1909, in Wharton to Oscar and Laura Stansell Jones. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cordelia Vanhook Jones on April 18, 2004.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Spurlock and the Rev. Eldon Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be Cody Curtis, Fred Wiley, Reggie Carlton, Robbie Carlton, Brad Dennis and Shelly Curtis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gurley and Jack Vanhook.

Cordelia Jones, 90, of Huntsville died April 18, 2004, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab at Huntsville. She was born May 4, 1913, at Mundell to Robert and Margaret Abigail Clark Vanhook. She was a homemaker and a member of Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Mae Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil T. Jones of the home; and many nephews and nieces.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. Jim Spurlock and the Rev. Eldon Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
