TRUMANN Vernon Ray Maness, 66, of Trumann, died Wednesday afternoon at his home. He was born at Booneville, Miss., and lived in Trumann for the past two years, moving from Bald Knob. He was a retired farmer and was of the Church of Christ belief.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora Hardy Maness of the home; four daughters, Lela Guthrie of Caraway, Sharon Cooksey of Enid, Miss., Lisa Stone of Trumann and Patricia Britt of Savannah, Tenn.; three sons, Harold Maness of Missouri, Jerry Maness of Etowah and Terry Maness of Trumann; one brother, James Maness of Bigelow; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Nichols Cemetery in Lepanto with Randall Harris officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Maness, Jerry D. Maness, Gabriel Stone, Jamie Guthrie, Jimmy Stone, Jimmy Britt and John Smith.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
